Grief Coaching

Allison Wysota, our Executive Director, has been a widow for over ten years and is the Founder of Adam’s House. From her own journey and the many widows; widowers who have participated in the Helping Hearts Heal program, Allison recognizes that unsupported grief may lead to anxiety, poor coping skills, addictive behavior, depression which makes supporting one’s grief paramount for healthy post-bereavement growth.

The yearning to get back to life as it was, questioning how to move on from here are a few themes to discuss during a one-on-one session to help widows and widowers move forward and focus more on what comes next after suffering a death loss.

Talks about the “Helping Hearts Heal” program

“Adam’s House has been an absolute God send to us as we deal with our grief. It is like a refugee camp for those of us whose lives have been shattered by a loved one’s death. They offer comfort, hope, resources and connection.”

“The activities for the kids were amazing. My children have a vocabulary and a positive way to communicate after the program. I don’t know how I would help my children without Adam’s house program. Thank you so much!!!”

“I started drinking, because the pain was so bad I thought I was in a horrible nightmare that I could not wake up from. Adam house helped me stop drinking, realizing drinking is another add-on problem making the situation worst.”

“I was taught to put on my oxygen mask so I can help my son. We were so numb before but now enjoy mountain biking again (we use d to do it as a family), we can talk about our loved one and laugh about the good times we had.”
